Dubai’s Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) has announced that the company building the $196m Rashid Hospital Tunnels project has completed construction and is putting the finishing touches to the tunnels, which are set to open on June 30.
“The implementation of Rashid Hospital Tunnels Project, which costs about AED722m ($196m), is part of a master plan through which the RTA is seeking to alleviate the traffic congestion in the surroundings of Sheikh Rashid Hospital, and improve the traffic flow in the area,” said RTA chairman Mattar Al Tayer.
He added that the tunnels are expected to carry around 6,000 vehicles an hour. More info
