The auction, which will start on August 5 and lasts 3 days, marks first time RTA online auction is held during Ramadan.
The Licensing Agency, Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) is intending to offer about 500 distinguished vehicle number plates in the 7th online auction comprising various plate categories such as (A, B and C) as well as new numbers of (K and J) categories. Auctioning will kick start on 5 August 2011 and roll on for three days.
Giving more details on the Auction, the Director of Vehicles Licensing at RTA Licensing Agency Mohammed Abdul Kareem Nimaat said: “It will be the first time for RTA to hold an online auction during the holy month of Ramadan. In its annual plan for 2011, the Licensing Agency opted to raise the bar on its e-services to enhance the accessibility & speed of processing transactions.
We are also endeavouring to revive number plates sales during this holy month through offering participants extensive opportunities to buy suitable number plates in a platform offering multiple categories for the first time as well. Online auctions offer bidders the freedom of selecting the suitable numbers in a smooth and clear manner; which underscores the successes made in the previous rounds of online auctions judged by the wide and diverse participations spanning all community segments.
“The forthcoming online auction will continue for about 3 days only as the RTA is keen to ensure that the auction fits well with the commitments of participants during the holy month.
“To participate in the online auction, the participant has either to log in RTA website (www.rta.ae), or visit Deira Licensing Center, Bur Dubai Licensing Center, Main Customer Service Center, or the Unified Services Center (Al Tawar Municipal Center). The participant needs to have a traffic file in Dubai Emirate and submit a financial deposit of AED5,000/- refundable in case no successful bid is made. This deposit can be paid either through RTA portal using credit card or e-dirham, submitting a cheque for the same amount of the deposit to the approved service center, or communicating with Customers Service Work Team through dialing the toll-free number 8009090 of RTA Call Center,” continued Nimaat.
The Director of Vehicles Licensing added that the 6th online auction was hugely successful in enhancing the profile of our online auctions; which prompted us to customize them to match customers needs & expectations in this regard.
