As the new Sheikh Zayed Road Interchange 2 flyover readies to open to southbound commute, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai has unveiled its plans that will put the brakes on traffic as we know it by end of 2016.
While key interchanges and widening of road junctions will ease daily gridlock across the emirate, neighbouring Abu Dhabi’s new expressway will also take the onus off Sheikh Zayed Road being the only artery to connect Dubai to the capital.
