H.E. Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board and Executive Director of the Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) has recently received at his office H.E. Matsunaga Daisuke; the new Japanese Consul General in Dubai.
During the meeting, which was attended by RTA Board Member Mohammed Obaid Al Mulla, the two parties discussed means of boosting cooperation and exchanging expertise between the RTA and its counterpart in Japan. They also reviewed the cooperation made with the Japanese firms operating in the rail industry as well as construction of road projects.
At the start of the meeting, Al Tayer welcomed the new Japanese Consul General in Dubai wishing him a nice stay in the UAE and every success in his efforts to boost the bilateral relations of the two countries.
RTA Chairman of the Board and Executive Director then briefed the Japanese diplomat on the projects the RTA intends to undertake in the near future covering widening of road networks and crossings over Dubai Creek in addition to a host of transit projects. He also reviewed with him RTA plans for boosting partnerships with the private sector in carrying out some projects the RTA intends to undertake in future.
For his part Matsunaga Daisuke expressed his huge admiration of the sweeping development and superb infrastructure seen by the UAE, and hailed RTA efforts in uplifting roads and transport infrastructure, adding that he had a feeling of pride that the Japanese companies were part of the Consortium that constructed the Dubai Metro Project.
The new Japanese Consul General in Dubai was hopeful of consolidating the strategic partnerships and cooperative links between the RTA and looked forward for Japanese firms and factories specialized in roads and transport sector to undertake a number of projects in future. More info
