Now you can shop and enjoy before getting on to the Dubai Metro with the Roads and Transports Authority (RTA) set to throw open 174 shopping outlets for rent across metro stations soon.
Of these, 106 retail outlets will be in the Red Line stations, while the remaining 68 will be in the Green Line stations.
These outlets will sell books, stationary, gifts and other items. There are also plans to open ladies’ beauty parlours, banks as well as electronics games’ outlets on the metro stations. According to the RTA, retailers on the station would attract more metro users and therefore more investments, making it a hub of activity.
The RTA recently held an open house for tenants of the Dubai Metro outlets to elicit their views and positive suggestions to bring further improvements on the system. The meeting was held at the RTA head office in the presence of Abdullah Al Madani, CEO of Corporate Technical Support Services Sector; Saeed Al Murri, Director of Contracts & Procurement; and Ramadan Abdullah, Director of Rail Operation, Abdullah Yousef Al Ali, Director of Commercial and Investment, and other RTA officials.
Al Madani reiterated RTA’s focus to boost bilateral relations and foster joint cooperation with customers in different sectors. During the meeting, a visual presentation showcased the high profile and pioneering achievements of the RTA over the past years. More info
