Oracle and the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) entered into an agreement today to co-operate to develop the Authority’s IT infrastructure to help it deliver on its vision of “Safe and Smooth Transport for All” for Dubai.
The agreement will see Oracle and the RTA working to provide IT infrastructure that automates processes to streamline government services. The agreement was made between the two parties on the sideline of the GITEX Technology Week 2012 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Center.
The RTA is responsible for road, rail and marine transportation infrastructure as well as licensing and other public transport-related services in Dubai. It supports the objective of the Government of Dubai to make the city a center of finance, business and tourism in the region.
“The relationship with the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority has been special to Oracle as for more than three years our products have assisted in automating the various functions, within the RTA. We are honoured to continue to support its initiatives,” said Fadi Abdulkhalek, Vice President of Oracle Technology Sales, and Gulf Region. “We are looking forward to exchanging corporate know-how and expertise at all levels.”
For his part, Abdulla Al Madani, CEO of RTA’s Corporate Technical Support Services Sector expressed his satisfaction and pleasure over the signing of this agreement, considering it a step forward to establish a strategic partnership with Oracle in future, as the RTA has always been committed to harness the latest in technology to elevate its large collection of services provided to the public from different social segments.
“Since its inception in 2005, the RTA has devoted itself to deliver the world’s best services to mass transit commuters including the citizens, expatriates and tourists alike, and ensure that their daily trips all over Dubai are safe, smooth, enjoyable and right on time,” said Al Madani. More info
