Roads & Transport Authority – Nashwan Atta’ee: The Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) bagged the Silver Trophy Award of the Dubai Quality Group , in the Category of Best Practices of Improvement & Innovation Management. The award was made during the 4th Continual Improvement and Innovation Symposium recently held in Dubai by the Dubai Quality Group , where RTA was represented by the Assets Department, Corporate Technical Support Services Sector.
During a ceremony held to mark the event, Udai Omer Al Deesi, Director of Assets, RTA Corporate Technical Support Services Sector, said: “Clinching this Award cements the reputable standing of the RTA in the community and boosts its image at the regional & global levels as well. It remains to be said that winning such awards is a testament to RTA continuous attention to the excellence & quality drive in all services provided & initiatives launched to serve the entire spectrums of the community.”
Al Deesi made a visual presentation depicting RTA’s application of the best practices in the field of assets & properties management and the improvements made in this regard since introducing & aligning of these practices with the highest global standards and specifications of PAS55 system. “Modern asset management approach concepts in place focus on holistic & sustained innovation & creativity aspects in order to better utilize existing assets through applying assets life-cycle programs built on planning, designing, purchasing, using, maintaining and eventually scrapping of assets.
Through this sequential & interrelated cycle, a balance is struck between the performance, cost and potential risks of each phase,” he explained. Al Deesi also touched on the electronic system of asset management which has been developed over the past two years and comprises specific performance indicators customized for each & every stage of asset life-cycle looked after by the RTA.
