The Public Transport Agency, Roads & Transport Authority (RTA), is taking part in the Dubai International Boat Show organized by the Dubai World Trade Center at Mina Seyahi, Dubai International Marine Club during 5-9 March 2013.
This participation aims at boosting the ongoing interaction between the RTA and its strategic partners, clients, and in particular, it seeks to familiarize them with the services offered by the Marine Transport Department in a bid to further improve the galaxy of marine transit services on offer.
“We, in the RTA, are keen on renewing our participation in this annual event which started back in 2008 as we firmly believe in its role in enhancing RTA’s diverse service offering in the field of marine transport to a wide spectrum of Exhibition visitors. Moreover, the RTA is also seeking to attach equal importance to transit services & means provided to the public, be it land or water transport,” said Ahmed Al Hammadi, Acting CEO of Public Transport Agency. “Our continued participation in this Exhibition is instrumental in checking the latest trends & best systems used in operating marine motors and environment-friendly motors. It will also avail us the opportunity to get acquainted with designers and manufacturers of boats and yachts worldwide, and select the best of them when considering to upgrade our marine services,” he continued.
“Our participations in the past editions of this event have been positive as the event attracts huge folks from various community segments, and we anticipate that the RTA stand in the Show this year will command more attention of the public and specialists who will be keen to familiarize with all marine transit means provided for the public such as Dubai Ferry, Water Taxi, Water Bus and Abras. A team of competent employees who have excellent communication skills and ability to pass on information about various marine transit services will be in place, and brochures & leaflets will be distributed. Through its Stand, the RTA will distibute tickets for cruises aboard the Ferry & the Water Taxi as well as Nol cards; which will make the stand highly popular,” added Al Hammadi.
Baha Al-Qudra, Director of Marine Transport, Public Transport Agency, said: “During the Exhibition, visitors will be ferried from the car park to the exhibition platform by means of 3 Water Buses in order to help ease the congestion. Visitors will experience a 15-20 minutes enjoyable cruises during which they will be exposed to gorgeous scenes along the Dubai coastal line, offering them a superb opportunity to explore this transit mode as well. This is bound to enhance the profile of the Water Bus as a prime transit mode in future as it is characterized by comfort and safety at the same time.
“RTA participation in the Exhibition will be through the Platform MD-202; which is accessible through the Water Bus, and the Agency will operate it differently this year as it will now depart from the Marina Mall Station, Dubai Marina and pass by the Marina Walk and continue up to the entry of the Exhibition. Free parking slots will be available at the Marina Mall for visitors of the Exhibition, and the fare of the Water Bus trips will be as follows:
– From the Marina Mall Station up to the Entrance of the Exhibition: 4 dirham per person per one way.
– From the Marina Walk Station to the Entrance of the Exhibition: 2 dirham per person per direction. More info
