DUBAI: Enquiry about bus and Metro arrival service via SMS at the Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) has shown a 12-fold increase as at the end of May, as compared to the number reported post the launch of the service last year-end.
Adel Shakeri, Director of Transportation Systems, RTA Public Transport Agency, said that text messages enquiring about the arrival of public buses and the Metro service in Dubai were 4,222 in number as at the end of May, as compared to 351 by the end of January this year.
Messages enquiring about public bus arrivals — 318 in January 2013 — rose to 3,104 messages by the end of May this year. Enquiries about Metro trains’ arrivals, which reported 33 messages when launched in January, shot up to 1,118 by the end of May. More info
