The first batch of Haj pilgrims from the UAE is all set to fly to Saudi Arabia on Wednesday from Terminals 1 and 3 from Dubai International Airport.
This was announced by Eissa Al Shamsi, Head of Haj Committee at Dubai International Airports, at a Press conference held on Sunday morning at Terminal-3.
“Emirates Airlines will fly 465 pilgrims — both Emiratis and residents — in six flights on Wednesday, while Saudi Airlines will fly 820 pilgrims on September 25 and 28 in two flights on each day,” Al Shamsi said.
Both carriers will operate additional flights in the coming few days to transport Haj pilgrims to Saudi Arabia, Al Shamsi told Khaleej Times. Al Shamsi urged Haj pilgrims and contractors to abide by the rules to save time and effort, and avoid delays.
The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai announced a new mechanism by which pilgrims’ transactions will be verified and processed at the earliest. More info
