A 325-metre base-jump tower has been proposed in Dubai that will offer a platform for extreme sports, according to a report published by the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH).
10 Design, the lead design architect, has conceived an expressive building form for the tower, devising a sculptural external hexagrid skin.
“This structural skin flares out at both the base and the top of the tower to provide not only structural stability, but also to house a series of extreme sports activities. Conceptually, the tower’s functions emulate the ascent to Mount Everest, with multiple “base camps”, the council said quoting ‘Archello’ magazine.
The council did not give details on the name of the developer. More info and photos
