The Museum of the Future has shortlisted 15 companies from across the world to help it develop unique experiences for visitors by using artificial intelligence and virtual reality technology.

The museum, which is set to open by the end of 2019, said it has started a four-week accelerator program where the companies will act as strategic partners to enhance visitors’ experience.

The accelerator is hosted under the umbrella of Dubai Future Accelerators, part of Dubai Future Foundation programmes.

The shortlisted partners – HTC, Huawei, POPIQ, SENSOREE, Art Processors, IDENTIGY, Unified Inbox, DigiComm, Holotronica, SNIPS, MetaVRse, SPACES, IT-Serve, Axeon360 and Layers of Reality – hail from the US, UK, Australia, Canada, France, Taiwan, Singapore, China, and the UAE.

“Through the Museum of the Future, Dubai aims to achieve a world-class experience with a one-of-a-kind visitor experience,” said Khalfan Belhoul, CEO of Dubai Future Foundation.

“We are happy to welcome all the shortlisted companies to enrich the experience of The Museum of the Future. Through their expertise, we believe these companies will create solutions that will create remarkable experiences for all visitors,” added Dr Noah Raford, futurist-in-chief and acting executive director of the Museum of the Future added.

Since 2014, the Museum of the Future has held temporary annual multi-sensory exhibitions at the World Government Summit in Dubai. These exhibitions focused on the role of future technology in different sectors such as government services, healthcare, climate change and food security. More
