Even as work for the first phase of metro gains momentum and the second phase is in pile testing stages, the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) announced on Tuesday that the detailed project report (DPR) for the fourth phase will be ready soon.
According to the authority, the final DPR of the 8.8km metro line-IV from Charkop to Dahisar will be ready by end of the month.
The metro line-IV will connect with metro line-II, which is Charkop-Bandra-Mankhurd. The line will have 8 stations – Kamraj Nagar, Ekta Nagar, Kastur Park, Don Bosco School, LIC Colony, IC Colony, Dahisar and Anand Nagar. “The estimated cost of the project is Rs1,575 crore,” said MMRDA.
According to additional metropolitan commissioner SVR Srinivas, the draft detailed report has been submitted and the final DPR will be ready by month-end. “Like other phases, this project will be implemented on public-private partnership (PPP) basis,” said Srinivas.
The MMRDA has also submitted a proposal to the Centre for seeking its in-principle approval to begin the tender process for the third phase of Metro between Colaba and Bandra.
