(MENAFN – The Peninsula) The Federation of the GCC Chambers and the GCC General Secretariat have announced their support to the Qatar International Exhibition for Transport and Logistics Trans4 – 2011, the first expo in Qatar to showcase the latest products, technologies and solutions in transport, logistics, shipping and railways sector.
Trans4-2011 to be held from October 17 to 19 will run concurrently with the GCC Transport and Railways Conference at the Doha Exhibition Center which will feature the four main sectors covering the complete chain, including railways, shipping, freight and logistics.
The Federation of the GCC Chambers and General Secretariat of the GCC will invite companies and institutions in transport, logistics and shipping sectors from their respective members to participate in Trans4 Exhibition- 2011 in Qatar. The event is intended to strengthen and develop business and trade ties in such important sectors that have a major impact on the region’s economic and social development.
Eng Ali Al Misnad (pictured), Chairman of Al Baida Group and Trans4-2011 organiser, said that the transport and logistics sector in the region have gained global attention following the announcement of multi billion dollars for the development of infrastructure, particularly the GCC railways and roads projects.
“The GCC is a powerful and influential economic body, and plays an important role in international business and trade policies,” said Al Misnad. “The Federation of the GCC Chambers and the GCC General Secretariat are both active in economic growth for all the GCC member states.”
“We appreciate the support of the GGC chambers and the General Secretariat of the GCC for Trans4 Exhibition-2011. It demonstrates the importance of this sector for the future development in the region.”
“Qatar’s vision for ambitious development is really attracting investors from around the world,” he said.
“Trans4 Exhibition-2011 has a strategic importance as it is organized in the host country of the World Cup 2022, with considerable budget allocated to set up world-class infrastructure.”
This includes a $20bn worth of road projects and the Doha Metro, the $11bn New Doha International Airport and the Doha new Port, as well as projects for the development of new cities such as Lusail and Mushairib city to mention just a few.
“All this will create a vital need for the development of transportation systems, networks, logistics, shipping, freight forwarding services, air cargo, etc,” Al Misnad pointed out.
He noted that a number of spaces in the expo has already been booked in a record time. In addition, an outdoor extension space for the exhibition has been added to meet the need of participating companies to display big size equipments and products.
