The Dubai Metro’s Green Line is to officially open on Friday, September 9, adding another 16 stations and two transfer stations to the city’s operating rail network, the RTA has announced.
All of the stations on the 23km Green Line are to open except Al Jadaf and Creek stations, which have been completed but will remain closed as developments surrounding them are unfinished.
Passengers will be able to travel between the Metro’s Green Line and the existing Red Line, as the lines will intersect at Union and Khalid bin Al Waleed stations.
The new line will start at Etisalat station, at Al Qusais near Emirates Road; with stops at Al Qusais, Airport Free Zone, Al Nahda, Al Qiyadah, Abhu Hall, Abu Baker Al Siddique, Salah Uddin, Union (Red intersection), Baniyas Square, Palm Deira, Al Ras, Al Ghubaiba. Al Fahidi, Khalid bin Al Waleed and Dubai Healthcare City.
The number of trains operating on both lines during peak hours will increase to 50 during peak times and 28 during off-peak times. More info
