Dubai Metro recognised for outstanding efforts

Dubai: The Dubai Metro team of Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) was honoured yesterday by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, in recognition of their outstanding efforts to complete the largest transportation project in the region.

Shaikh Mohammad decorated Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board and Executive Director of the RTA, who led the professional and creative team of national young leaders, with the Mohammad Bin Rashid sash, in the presence of Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, and Shaikh Maktoum Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, at the Atlantis Hotel.

Commitment

The honour was bestowed upon them for their commitment and determination in completing the project on the set deadlines of September 9, 2009, and September 9, 2011.

He congratulated Al Tayer on the achievement and overcoming all hardships and challenges to ensure the success of the project, which is a landmark in the country.

Al Tayer expressed his profound gratitude for being decorated with the sash by Shaikh Mohammad .

Later, guests watched a documentary on RTA’s achievements since 2005.

The ceremony was attended by Shaikhs, ministers, dignitaries and national economic community.
