H.E. Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board and Executive Director of the Roads & Transport Authority (RTA), has recently received at his office H.E. Guy Warrington, Consul General of the British Embassy in Dubai, in the context of cementing the existing cooperative relations at the local, regional and international levels.
The meeting discussed means of boosting the cooperation and exchanging expertise between the RTA and British firms operating in rail, roads and transport sectors, and explored future road and infrastructure projects in Dubai.
RTA Chairman of the Board and Executive Director briefed the British Consul General on the key projects undertaken by the RTA for upgrading the infrastructure of roads as well as various mass transit systems including the metro, water transport modes, buses and taxis among others to cater to the growing expansion of population, projects and urbanization.
For his part the Consul General of the British Embassy in Dubai commended the sweeping development seen by the Dubai Emirate in a record time rendering it a focal point of investors, business leaders and tourists, thanks to the visionary leadership of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. He also commended the Dubai Metro project; which added to the galaxy of distinctive projects characterizing the Emirate of Dubai, and contributed to easing the mobility of population and traffic congestion.
