The Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) announced that Burjuman Center and Danube Group have joined the Dubai Metro Stations Naming Rights Project. The two entities have thus become integral parts of the development drive the RTA is seeking to realize on the ground through the Metro project, which has contributed immensely in transforming the concept of cooperation between partners to go beyond the traditional sponsorship and branding to a deeper level of holistic brand/business integration and partnership.
A statement to this effect was made during a press conference held at RTA Head Office to unveil the joining of those two entities the Dubai Metro Stations Naming Rights Project. Attending the event were the CEO of Rail Agency Adnan Al Hammadi, CEO of Corporate Technical Support Services Sector Abdullah Al Madani, Chairman of Burjuman Center Majid Saif Al Ghurair, and the Chairman of Danube Group Rizwan Sajan, in addition to several other concerned parties.
“The RTA is keen on enabling various companies, be it public or private, to take part in the Metro Stations Naming Rights Project as it contributes to increasing the national and international companies’ brand awareness and reinforcing their positioning in Dubai Emirate besides playing a bigger and more prominent role in upgrading the metro project,” said Al Hammadi.
“Adding Burjuman Center (to take the name of Khalid bin Al Waleed Station), and Danube Group (to take the name of Jebel Ali Industrial Station), to the lineup of beneficiaries of the Metro Stations Naming Rights Project, is a huge plus for us as it speaks volumes of the Project’s success. It also manifests the confidence pinned by partners in the Project as a unique platform for showcasing Dubai as an advanced global destination. Moreover, these partnerships are capable of nurturing long-term investment potentials, adding that in future more partnerships will be unveiled to form a key part of the Project,” he continued.
“The Dubai Metro Stations Naming Rights Project is the first of its kind worldwide and is the world’s first revenue model for public transport infrastructure; which has now been emulated by other cosmopolitan cities such as Chicago, Boston, Houston, London, Delhi-Gurgaon, Philadelphia, Montreal, and Rio de Janeiro among others,” continued Al Hammadi.
Majid Saif Al Ghurair, Chairman of the board of Burjuman Center, said: “The visionary initiative of the Dubai Government to set up a mass transport system on par with the best in the world has been highly successful, with the Dubai Metro being globally hailed as one of the most modern and efficient public transportation projects to be successfully rolled out in recent years. As pioneers of the shopping mall industry in the region and a leading member of the retail fraternity, we are delighted to contribute to the success of this landmark project. Securing the naming rights of Khalid bin Al Waleed station is part of BurJuman’s ongoing commitment to support and partner the vision of the government and its agencies to make Dubai a model city in every sphere, one in which both residents and visitors enjoy a high quality of life and service.
