Dubai aims to reduce spending next year

A budget approved yesterday by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, called for Dh32.26 billion (US$8.78bn) of government spending next year against anticipated revenues of Dh30.4bn, resulting in a projected Dh1.8bn deficit.

Filming of the clip lasted five days in Dubai’s Metro station, Burj Al Arab and Address Hotel. According to the London based Elaph, the team of pilots that took part in the clip were the same that had acted in the movie Mission Impossible starring American actor Tom Cruise.

Qatar railway project restructured

The organisations responsible for developing rail transport in the emirate have been restructured, with the aim of shortening decision making processes. Planning is underway for a passenger rail network as well as a metro which would connect central Doha with the airport and football stadia which will host the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Mohammed and Cruise light up Dubai Film Festival’s red carpet

However, it has to be said that even more than Cruise himself, it was the cheers that His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, drew when he walked the red carpet that really made the night for many of the excited fans.
