I Got My Metro Baby gift!
My son was born on 09.09.09 and the Road and Transport Authority promised a birthday gift pack for all metro babies. The official letter from the RTA marketing & corporate communications department apologises for the delay and congratulates the parents. The metro baby birthday gift pack includes a certificate signed by Mattar Al Tayer, a toy train and a free one-year metro access special cards for mother & father.
More and more commuters use public transport
“Public bus service operational indicators reveal that in the first half of the year, bus commuters increased to about 56 million transported in 1.8 million journeys, of which 44 million used ‘urban transport’, buses operating in over 80 domestic routes covering the various districts and towns of Dubai. About seven million used inter-city buses operating in over 13 routes covering the main cities across the emirates.
RTA rules out hike in fares
While a series of fuel price increases recently — two in the past three months — have left people wondering, a senior Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) official has said the action will not have any impact on the fares charged by Dubai’s public transport facilities. Fuel prices shot up by 20 fils earlier this month, following a similar increase in April, impacting normal life.
