Professional drivers in Dubai may soon need to pass medical fitness tests, to be allowed to continue in their job, traffic authorities have said.
RTA signs strategic partnership pact with Royal Island Beach Club
The Public Transport Agency at the Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) and the Royal Island Beach Club, the owner of Lebanon Island, The World islands, have agreed to operate marine transit means, namely Water Taxi and Ferry Dubai, at the Club-owned Lebanon Island; the first island to be opened in The World project.
RTA offers quad bike plates online
The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has started issuing number plates of quad bikes online. Abdullah Abdul Rahman, Director of RTA Vehicles Licensing, said: “The new service is aimed at streamlining the process of registering quad bikes in a bid to enhance security and safety.”
Issuance fee for blue Nol cards in Dubai reduced by 50%

Dubai Taxi officially opens Drivers Training Center
The Dubai Taxi Corporation (DTC) at the Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) has officially opened Taxi Drivers Training & Qualification Center at its Head Office, Muhaisnah 4 to train and qualify cabbies through various courses & lectures as well as practical & theoretical sessions in order to furnish them with the latest information to empower them to cope with challenges and difficulties encountered while performing their duties.
RTA announces operation plan of public transport during New Year’s celebrations at Burj Khalifa
The plan includes expanding the operational hours of the Dubai Metro into a non-stop service past the midnight of Sunday 1stJanuary (24 hours) and slashing the service frequency (headway) to 3 minutes in the stations from Al Rashidiya up to Ibn Battuta during the peak hours from after 12.00 am (past the midnight) and up to 05:30 am, whereas the service frequency during the off-peak time will range from 4 to 10 minutes.
Quad bike registration must
A new law introduced by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) recently has made registration of quad bikes mandatory in Dubai, while strictly confining them to off-road.
