RTA links with five vehicle insurers
RTA’s Licensing Agency has expanded its service delivery capacity by approving five vehicle insurers to process vehicle registration renewals for RTA clients. This came in a press conference held yesterday morning at auditorium of RTA’s Headquarter through which the Licensing Agency unleashed an agreement it had signed with five vehicle insurers.
RTA extend Ramadan working hours of water bus and water taxi
The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has extended the working hours of the Water Bus during the holy month of Ramadan from 08 am to 10 pm – instead of 07 am to 07 pm, and the working hours of the Water Taxi from 10 am to 12 am (midnight) – instead of 10 am to 10 pm, and the new working hours are being observed throughout the days of the week including Fridays, announced the CEO of RTA Public Transport Agency, Eisa Abdul-Rahman Al-Dosari.
RTA gears up preparation for hosting UITP Congress 2011
The Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) is gearing up preparation for holding the 59th International Association of Public Transport (UITP) Congress & Exhibition in Dubai in April 2011 despite the credit crunch currently engulfing the whole world, thanks to the consistent economy of the United Arab Emirates, according to Mohammed Obaid Al Mulla, Chairman of the Higher Organizing Committee of the 59th UITP Congress.
Dubai Taxi to revise Drivers Performance Assessment System
The CEO of the DTC Abdul Aziz Malik explained the proposed system saying: “The proposed system aims at achieving a 6% improvement in customer satisfaction and mystery shopper results, a 5% improvement in drivers satisfaction rating, a 2% improvement in the rate of traffic accidents per 100,000 in which DTC drivers are involved, an 11% reduction in traffic offences per 100,000 km, a reduction of complaints rate per 100,000 km, and a 2% increase in the average daily revenue.
Public Transport Agency reschedules bus routes in Ramadan
The Public Transport Agency, Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) announced that it will carry out a series of positive changes & rescheduling of its services across Dubai from the beginning up to the end of the holy month of Ramadan. The move aims at providing better services to commuters of public buses during this period and enabling them smooth and speedy access to their intended destinations.

The Crises & Disasters Management System set for the Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) aims at safeguarding lives, properties, environment and revenues as well as roads & transportation systems against the negative effects of crises and accidents with the aim of minimizing the downtime and other consequential losses and disasters, according to Abdul Mohsin Ibrahim Younes, CEO of RTA Strategy & Corporate Governance Sector.
RTA completes improvement works of Murdiff Bridge
The Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) has recently completed all works of Murdiff Interchange with the opening of all remaining works in the project which included the opening of a right traffic lane inbound from Abu Dhabi / Jebel Ali outbound to Murdiff, a tunnel and upper roads, and a right traffic lane in the direction of Murdiff City Center.
Al Khawaneej and Jebel Ali Bus Depots to open this August
H.E. Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board and Executive Director of Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) revealed that public buses have commuted about 56 million passengers in the first half of this year and it is forecasted that the total number of public bus commuters would hit 119 million passengers by the end of the current year.
