Dubai officials have announced lifts at the city’s metro stations will be limited to two people.
The new rule was announced on Friday by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).
“With the resumption of Dubai Metro trips, RTA has issued new preventive measures in stations, including restricting elevator use to two people per elevator,” the RTA said.
The measure marks the latest step by the emirate to resume more normal transport services since restrictions on travel were introduced to help prevent the spread of Covid-19.
Last Wednesday, the tram service in Dubai was reopened after closing for six weeks and the city’s ferry service has also resumed.
Dubai’s main metro line reopened in late April with passengers instructed to leave spaces between seats and ensure social distancing. More
