Dubai Duty Free has opened 2,500sq m of retail space at the new Al Maktoum International Airport. The airport, which will eventually become the world’s largest, opened to passengers on 29 October. In this story we feature images of the retailer’s first stores at the location.
Dubai Duty Free Executive Vice Chairman Colm McLoughlin told The Moodie Report: “The long-term plan is for retail space of 64,000sq m, and the government decree is that this will be operated by Dubai Duty Free.”
The new passenger terminal offers full retail and food & beverage amenities. It is serviced by one A380 capable runway, 64 remote aircraft stands and has capacity initially for up to 7 million passengers per year. Once completed after a series of phases in the coming years, the airport will have capacity for 160 million passengers. More info and gallery
