Dubai: Dubai Metro transported 57,972 people on Thursday, Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) statistics show.
Dr Aisha Al Busmait, director of RTA’s Customer Service Centres, said the Metro usage increased sharply during the Eid.
She said residents, visitors and tourists from different parts of the region and other parts of the world have been using the Red Line, since its opening on September 9 with ten stations.
Dr Aisha said the authorities expected the usage to go up further as people’s public transport culture changes.
