Dubai’s transit authority told that the half finished work of city’s metro system has resumed completing in time as contractors are being paid.
The recent piece of news came Thursday via a statement, after there were reports in media regarding the delay of work on the Arab Gulf’s first rapid transit by the project’s Japanese-led consortium due to a dispute over late payments.
In the month of September, Dubai inaugurated part of the metro system, however only about a third of the initial line’s stations are ready and it will be February when the remaining stations on the 32-mile red line would commence functioning.
The Emirate has told that the cost of the metro’s first lines will be $7.6 billion, about 80 percent more than originally planned.
