Dubai’s leading developer Emaar Properties is set to launch the first phase of a world-class trolley tram system in Downtown Dubai, its flagship mega-development, in the first quarter of this year.
A convenient and fun-oriented ‘hop-on hop-off’ transit system, the all-new Dubai Trolley will add tremendous value to Downtown Dubai residents and visitors by offering them an attractive and user-friendly commuting service within the world’s most prestigious square kilometre, said a statement from Emaar.
To span a distance of 7 km, Dubai Trolley will serve as an exotic, easy-to-access connecting link between the various iconic attractions in Downtown Dubai including Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building, and The Dubai Mall, the world’s most-visited retail and lifestyle destination.
Aligned along Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard, the first phase of Dubai Trolley will cover a distance of 1 km and will have three stations to offer passengers easy access to The Dubai Mall, and The Address Downtown Dubai and Vida Downtown Dubai hotels, it stated.
With the rails already laid out and the stations getting their finishing touches, the kilometre-long phase one of the city’s newest public transport system will soon open to public, it added. More info
