Dubai Water Canal will feature a waterfall on the Sheikh Zayed Road bridge, on the side Al Habtoor City.
Made up of 80 water pumps, the waterfall switches off when boats travelling on the canal approach the bridge.
Water was released in the Dubai Water Canal for the first time last week, in what was the most significant development in a three-year project that’s seen three new bridges open and a path dug from Business Bay to the Arabian Gulf.
That first release was part of a testing process, with more and more to slowly make its way into the 3km stretch over the coming weeks. The canal is expected to be 6 metres in depth when it’s filled to capacity later this month. More info and photos
