Festival Plaza, Al-Futtaim’s community shopping project, is on track to open in December 2019, it has been announced.
The project, estimated to cover 64,800 square metres, has been designed to serve as the centre of the upcoming Wasl Gate community and beyond.
Al-Futtaim said the substructure works are now complete and ongoing superstructure progress is well underway, while leasing property has begun.
Almost 80 percent of retail space has already been secured, the company added in a statement.
Timothy Earnest, group director, Al-Futtaim Malls, said: “We are excited to broaden our footprint to a key residential are and look forward to bringing our lifestyle expertise and successful retail mix to an even wider audience.”
Festival Plaza has confirmed the new destination will be home to brands IKEA and ACE.
The second IKEA store to open in Dubai will be spread over 30,000 square metres, while LuLu Hypermarket has recently been announced as the centre’s chosen supermarket of choice.
The development will be host to 2,310 parking spaces, 120 stores, along with 40 cafes and restaurants and a 500-seat food court. More
