The president of Saudi Railways Organization (SRO), Mohamed Al-Suwaiket, inaugurated four new commuter trains at the Passenger Terminal in Dammam.
Al-Suwaiket explained that these trains have been manufactured in Spain by CAF, a major global rolling stock manufacturer, in line with SRO’s integrated plan to support and update its passenger train fleet, reports UAE-based Aliqtisadi.
The new trains, with their high-quality specifications and techniques would ensure superior performance that suits the environmental and climatic conditions of the Kingdom, says Al-Suwaiket.
He adds that the trains have a capacity of 180 km/h and are equipped with the European system of ERTMS, which protects trains from accidents and operational errors. More info
