Dubai: The Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) won the ‘Infrastructure Project of the Year’ for the Dubai Metro Green Line at The Big Project and BGreen Awards 2011 held recently at the Armani Hotel in the Burj Khalifa.
The Metro Green Line was launched by the RTA on September 9 this year, two years after the launch of the Red Line on September 9, 2009. Adnan Al Hammadi, CEO of the RTA Rail Agency, expressed his delight at winning this prestigious award. He said it culminates the RTA’s efforts to broaden the scope of public transport and promote sustainable transport in Dubai.
Business leaders and heads of government and semi-government entities as well as private businesses in the UAE and the region attended the event.
