Roads and Transport Authority shares best practices of assets management with Dubai Municipality delegation

The Assets Management Department, Corporate Technical Support Services Sector, Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) has recently reviewed with a delegation of the Dubai Municipality the best practices of RTA’s assets management system; which is aligned with the highest global standards.

RTACommenting on the visit, Adi Al Deesi, Director of RTA’s Asset Management, said: “The visit is a reflection of the ongoing cooperation and communication between the Dubai Government bodies and their keen efforts to exchange expertise and enhance the job delivery under a single and common objective of uplifting the business conduct & performance to the highest levels; echoes a standing call of our senior leadership.”

During the gathering, a thorough explanation was made about the Organizational Chart of the Department highlighting the different Sections along with their roles & responsibilities, core business & strategic features advocated by the Department and the objectives to be realized in future. Discussions also included the key pillars of RTA’s Assets Management System; which spans the teams, follow-up committee, implementation programs and the control measures applicable at the Department.

For her part Hind Al Tajir, Manager of Assets Policies & Strategies, gave a brief account of the International Asset Management System (PASS 55), which has recently been awarded to RTA’s Public Transport Agency; rendering it one of the first Middle Eastern entities to embrace such innovative asset management system. She also shed light on the Department’s future plan set for other RTA’s Agencies to obtain this international accreditation.

The members of the visiting delegation from Dubai Municipality commended this gathering and interaction with the RTA, which offered an opportunity to review the job nature of Assets Management Department and would therefore contribute to the exchange of expertise and improved business conduct and performance. They stressed that the business entities, though different in names, share the same working environment oriented towards achievement and development.

They commended RTA’s strenuous efforts to introduce the best practical programs in various fields and specialties; and in so doing it became one of the distinguished government entities in Dubai over the past few years.
