The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced the timing of its entire services during the Eve and New Year’s holiday on Saturday (31 December 2016) and Sunday (1 January 2017) covering customers happiness centers, paid parking zones, public buses, Dubai metro & tram, marine transit modes, driving institutes and vehicles testing & registration centers.
Ms. Moaza Al Marri, Director of Marketing and Corporate Communication at the RTA, said, “All happiness service centers will be off duty during the New Year’s Eve and the New Year’s holiday. Accordingly, all paid parking zones in the Emirate of Dubai will be free of charge on Sunday 1 January 2017, except for the Fish Market parking lots and the multi-level parking terminal. The parking fees system will be reactivated starting from Monday 2 Jan 2017.”
“During the holiday of the New Year, the Red Line of the Dubai Metro service on Saturday Dec 31st 2016 will start from 05:30 am and continue up to 12:00 midnight. On Sunday 01 January 2017, stations will start from 12:01 just past midnight to 12:00 midnight,” added Al Marri.
“The service of the Green Line on Saturday Dec 31st 2016 will start from 05:50 am and continue up to 12:00 midnight, and on Sunday 01 January 2017, it will operate from 12:01 just past midnight to up to 12:00 midnight. The Express Metro service will be off duty on Sunday 01 January 2017.”
“The Dubai Tram services on Saturday Dec 31st 2016 will start from 06:30 and continue up to 12:00 midnight, and on Sunday 01 January 2017, it will operate from 12:01 just past midnight up to 01:00 am of Monday 2nd Jan 2017,” continued Al Marri.
“The timings of public buses (Dubai Bus) during the holiday on 01 January 2017 will be as follows: Public Buses and Main Stations (such as Gold Souk), will start service from 04:25 am up to 12:00 midnight. Al Ghubaiba Station will start at 04:30 am and continue up to 12:00 midnight. In subsidiary stations (such as Satwa), the service will be from 04:57 am up to 11:35 pm, except for Route C01; which will be operating around-the-clock.
Al Qusais Station will open at 04:40 am and continue service up to 12:00 midnight, and Al Quoz Industrial Station will start service at 05:00 am and continue up to 11:30 pm, whereas Jebel Ali Station will be on duty from 05:00 am up to 12:00 midnight,” elaborated Al Marri.
“Metro stations feeder bus service at Al Rashidiya, Mall of the Emirates, Ibn Battuta, Burj Khalifa, Etisalat and Abu Hail, will offer service from 05:00 am up to 12:20 past midnight (of the following day). The timing of the feeder service will match the timing of the metro service.
The operational timing of inter-city bus service on 01 January 2017 will be as follows: Main Stations (such as Ghubaiba) will provide 24-hour service to Sharjah (Jubail), and from 05:00 am to 12:25 pm (past midnight) to Abu Dhabi. Subsidiary stations, such as the Union Square, will operate from 04:30 am up to 01:25 am (of the following day). Sabkha Station will be on service from 06:15 am up to 01:30 am (of the following day). Deira Station will open from 05:35 am up to 11:30 pm and Karama Station will open from 06:10 am up to 10:20 pm, while Al Ahli Club station service will start from 06:05 am and continue 10:25 pm,” continued Al Marri.
“External stations will offer services as follows: Sharjah Route (Ta’awon) from 05:30 am up to 10:00 pm; and Ajman Station from 04:30 am to 11:00 pm. Fujairah Stations will be operational from 05:55 am to 09:05 pm, and Hatta Route from 05:30 am to 09:30 pm” explained Al Marri.
“About the timing of marine transit services during the New Year’s holiday, Al Marri said: “The Water Bus will be operating at the Marina (Marina Mall, Marina Walk, Marina Terrace and Marina Promenade) from 12:00 midday up to 12:00 midnight. The Water Taxi will be operating from 09:00 am up to 10:00 pm. The Dubai Ferry will operate 5 trips at Al Ghubaiba Station in the direction of Dubai Marina Mall at 11:00 am, 01:00 afternoon, 03:00 afternoon, 05:00 pm and 06:30 pm.”
“At Marina Station, the Dubai Ferry will operate 5 trips in the direction of Al Ghubaiba Station at 11:00 am, 01:00 afternoon, 03:00 afternoon, 05:00 pm and 06:30 pm,” stated Al Marri.
“The Dubai Water Canal Stations will operate 3 trips from Al Jadaf Station to Dubai Water Canal at 10:00 am, 12:00 at noon, and 05:30 pm; and 3 trips from Dubai Water Canal back to Al Jaddaf at 12:05 at noon, 02:05 afternoon, and 07:35 pm.”
“Electrical abras will operate at the Global Village from 04:00 afternoon up to 12:00 midnight; at Burj Khalifa from 06:00 pm up to 11:00 pm; at Al Mamzar from 02:00 afternoon up to 12:00 midnight. In the Dubai Creek stations (Al Ghubaiba, Baniyas, Sabkha Dubai Old Souk,) abras will run from 10:00 am up to 12:00 am (midnight); while Air-conditioned abras will operate at Al Jaddaf Dubai Festival City from 07:00 am up to 12:00 pm.”
“All vehicles testing & registration centers will be off duty on Sunday (01 Jan 2017), and will resume duty on Monday Jan 2nd 2017,” concluded the Director of RTA’s Marketing and Corporate Communication. More info
