The delegation was received by Abdulla Al Mahra, Director of Administrative Services, RTA Corporate Administrative Support Services Sector, who praised the visit as it would contribute substantially in boosting the cooperation between various entities in the UAE, particularly government departments.
Such efforts, he noted, conforms to the drive of the senior leadership encouraging sharing of expertise and concepts between various stakeholders in a bid to improve & broaden their cooperative links in the interest of public service offering and bringing it to the highest standards.
The meeting included a visual presentation to acquaint the delegation with the roles and responsibilities entrusted to the Department in general along with a detailed explanation about the Public Services Section through spotlighting the systems applied in the section and its role in providing vehicles to the concerned RTA staffs in various sectors and agencies in order to meet their needs and assist them in performing their daily jobs.
The meeting discussed the policy of using vehicles adopted by both parties where the RTA from inception used to hire vehicles and allocate them to employees, whereas DEWA used to buy such vehicles. So the two parties reviewed the benefits and drawbacks of these two procedures. They also discussed the sorts of modern technologies for such vehicles namely the tracking system, and tyre pressure technology, along with the deterrent penalties in place applicable to the misuse of such vehicles.
Discussions also touched on the future plans the RTA will be undertaking highlighted by holding awareness workshops for employees using such vehicles to minimize offences & conserve RTA’s vehicles, and the new study commissioned this year about hiring vehicles that safeguard RTA’s maintenance rights.
For his part, Jamal Kharbash, Senior Director of Administrative Services, DEWA, reviewed the policy of DEWA in using vehicles along with the technologies associated with the use of these vehicles. He also gave a briefing about the procedures related to vehicles maintenance as DEWA buys such vehicles.
At the end of the meeting, members of the visiting delegation thanked the RTA for sharing its successful model and expertise in hiring vehicles which will boost the implementation of the best practices. More info
