The Asset Department, Corporate Technical Support Services, at Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), in collaboration with the Institute of Asset Management – UK, has conducted an Asset Management Test; the first of its kind in the Middle East about innovative & modern asset management techniques built on the highest international standards, where around 10 employees from various RTA’s sectors and agencies concerned with assets were subjected to this test.
Abdullah Al Madani, CEO of RTA Corporate Technical Support Services Sector, said, “The RTA is working tirelessly on activating and implementing a host of new initiatives through effective communication and cooperation with world-best professional entities in order to transfer knowledge to employees and equip them with various skills that empower them to keep up with the innovative developments, and realize RTA’s strategic goal: “Asset Sustainability.”
“RTA Department of Asset Management has recently embarked on subjecting a host of employees engaged in asset operation to intensive training courses and diverse programs about the best way of managing assets in a bid to nurture the culture of maintaining assets at world-class standards. The courses were run by specialists from the Department and RTA Excellence Center. Such exposure constituted an important step qualifying them to sit for the test which was conducted online by the Institute of Asset Management – UK,” elaborated Al Madani.
“Employees will receive results of the test shortly through their e-mail addresses. Successful ones will be awarded with certificates accredited by the Institute of Asset Management – UK qualifying them to act as Asset Management Specialists. This step is quite important as the RTA has future plans to upgrade the business process of Asset Management Dep’t in a bid to obtain the newly launched ISO 55000 Certification, besides qualifying its staff to engage in this field in order to care for RTA assets,” concluded the Director of RTA Asset Management.
