The Marine Transport Department, Public Transport Agency, Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), has launched a new tourist route for Dubai Ferry from Al Mamzar Marine Transport Station exclusively on Thursdays and Fridays.
Hussein Khansaheb, Director of Marine Transport, at RTA Public Transport Agency, said, “The Public Transport Agency is always keen on operating scheduled tours for Dubai Ferry at both Dubai Marina and Ghubaiba stations. At the behest of the Dubai Ferry commuters, we have decided to expand the scope of marine services and access new destinations by operating new tourist trip for Dubai Ferry in Al Mamzar area.”
“The new tourist route of Dubai Ferry, which was launched on 1st October, was tentatively operated during weekends (Thursdays and Fridays) with an average of one trip per day at 4.30 pm. The trip, which lasts for an hour, costs only AED 75 for the Gold Class, which is the same fare currently applicable, whereas the Silver Class costs AED 50,” added Khansaheb.
Dubai Ferry is the latest and largest RTA marine transit mode in Dubai, with 4 boats currently in operation and an additional one will added at Ghubaiba station. Dubai Ferry, which is an express additional tourist means of transport to access new areas, serves Dubai Creek, and the coastline stretching along Jumeirah beaches, in addition to Dubai Marina, Jumeirah Beach Residence, waterfront projects, and Al Mamzar area. Dubai Ferry, which has a capacity of 100 passengers, extends 32 meters in length and 8 meters in width, with a speed of 24 knots per hour. More info
