The Licensing Agency, Roads and Transport Authority RTA is offering about 100 distinguished licensing plates for vehicles comprising three, four and five-digit numbers bearing codes J, L, M, N, O, K, G, H. Registration for the auction started on July 8th and will continue up to the start of the auction which will be kicked off on July 15 2014 and continues for 3 days.
Mohammed Abdul Kareem Nimaat, Director of Vehicles Licensing, RTA Licensing Agency, said: “The RTA is seeking to bolster its e-services, which is an integral part of our strategic plan aimed improving and streamlining business procedures and enabling the smooth processing of customer transaction. Furthermore the RTA is making relentless efforts to provide handy outlets for selling plates demanded by a large chunk of the community.
Auctions have made huge successes as they avail various community members the liberty to select and obtain their fancied numbers in a flexible and clear mechanism offering full transparency.
“Participation in the auction, which lasts for three days only, requires bidders to log in to RTA website, or use the New Username link to obtain a Username and Password. Registering a new user requires the user to have a vehicle registered in Dubai Emirate or a driver license issued from the Emirate,” added Nimat.
“The potential bidder has to deposit a financial security amounting to five thousand dirham refundable in case no successful bid is made. The deposit can be paid through RTA portal by means of a credit card or e-dirham, a cheque submitted to RTA customers service center at Umm Ramool, Bur Dubai, Deira or Al Tawar Municipal Center, or communicating with the Customer Service Team through the toll-free number 8009090 of RTA Call Center,” said the Director of RTA Vehicles Licensing.
