The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has introduced a new channel for communicating with customers, offering them passenger transport-related services through deluxe vehicles (limos) or taxis as well as services provided to taxi plate holders.
Abdullah Al Mahra, Director of Monitoring and Franchise at RTA Public Transport Agency, said: “The RTA is seeking to open a diverse cast of channels for customers in a bid to streamline their transaction processing in a way befitting their needs and responding to their requirements of all RTA services.
We have therefore recently transferred services related to passenger transport by deluxe vehicles (limo), taxis in addition to services provided to taxi plate holders from the Monitoring and Franchise Department at the Public Transport Agency to the Commercial Transport Activities Department at the Licensing Agency, and the Planning & Business Development Department at the Public Transport Agency. RTA’s Customers Service Center at Deira Traffic premises, has been designated for offering these services.”
The services transferred to Customers Service Center at Deira Traffic premises relating to the Commercial Transport Activities Department at the Licensing Agency. Passenger transport via taxis include: licensing an activity, registering a new vehicle, registering a replacement vehicle, renewing a driver license, issuing a waiver, withdrawing/ adding a partner, registering private vehicles, endorsing an ad on taxis, settling monthly replacement fines, and requesting a letter addressed to the Ministry of Labour.
In regards to transporting passengers on deluxe vehicles (limo), the services include activity permit, abolishing an existing company, replacement fine, transporting passengers from and to Dubai Airports, and other Emirates, franchise fees, To Whom It May Concern certificates relating to company details based on the number of vehicles, changing a trading name of an establishment, endorsing the registration of a new deluxe vehicle, and withdrawal of a partner.
