“The team overseeing the Arabic Language excellence initiative ‘Husn Al Bayan’ was unsurprised bynaming theinitiative as the winner. Apart from its traditional role, the initiative started with simple steps aimed to enhance the role and positive impact of Al Masar Magazine beyond the traditional limits in a bid to assist others and diffuse the knowledge and culturecharacterizing the editorial board of Al Masar Magazine, given that the Magazine boasts two of RTA’s 50 experts,” said Dr. Aysha Al Busmait.

“A circular was therefore issued toall RTA employees on 09.03.2010, inviting them to exhibit their writing skills and abilities, and promised to provide themwith all the support and assistance they need. The start was made earlier in 2009 by rolling out some simple initiatives (Training workshops ontheskills of writing news reports), and then opted to redefine this initiative in the context of a more defined approach and program. The initiative now comprises a wide range of sub-initiatives, ruling around 30 initiatives, rendering it a worthy winner of two accolades, where one of its sub-initiatives won the secondAward, viz.the Best Innovation in Promoting National Identity Award on Social Networking Sites.”

“The initiative established two voluntary supporting teams in the RTA, namely: Al Masar Ambassadors Team, and the National Identity Ambassadors Team. Over the last three years, the initiative held 18 voluntary workshops and training coursesto the benefit of176 employees and university students in various specializations offered, namely: The skill of writing news report, Quran modulation, Arabic language skills, and Holy Quran syntax. These training sessions paid dividends inempowering many RTA employees to prepare news reports, enabling employee articles to be published in the magazine’s specialized pages, and improving the magazine’s tools of disseminating culture and knowledge as regards the national identity: Arabic Language and the Local HeritageviaRTA intranet and  social networking websites: Twitter and Facebook,” added Al Busmait.

She noted that the team overseeingthe initiative was greatly prized bypublishingthe poem of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, entitled’EternalLanguage’. The team was rewarded with a strong support toits efforts and was keen not tosquandersuch a privilege, and started publishing a series of reviewsofthe Poem and then deliberately spread this reviewover seven issues of the Magazine starting from 48 to 54, so that the poem remainsvivid in the eyes &memories of people.
