RTA to exhibit 16 projects

DUBAI – RTA will showcase 16 projects and services, from the Floating Bridge to the air-conditioned bus shelters, in the Dubai Government’s Achievements Expo to be held on December 19 and 20 at Dubai World Trade Centre.

Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board and Executive Director of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), said that RTA will also exhibit multi-tier flyovers that boast a distinctive design and the use of high technologies such as the first and eighth interchanges on the Shaikh Zayed Road, as well as the Arabian Ranches Interchange.

“We will exhibit the 900 air-conditioned bus shelters, which have been constructed all over Dubai Emirate. The Floating Bridge is an innovative project undertaken by the RTA as prompt solution to ease the traffic congestions. The bridge was constructed over 300 days. It has a capacity to handle 3,000 vehicles per hour, per direction, during morning and evening peak hours.”

He said the Dubai Government’s Achievements Expo (Local Government, Global Achievements), being held under the auspices of the UAE Vice-President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, would be a platform to showcase the achievements, initiatives and projects of all Dubai Government authorities and departments under one roof with the aim of promoting the excellent services provided by the Dubai Government entities to their clientele encompassing private businesses, citizens, residents, investors and visitors.
