One year after it was first launched in the UAE Samsung’s mobile payment service ‘Samsung Pay’ has been made available for online payments.
Up until now, the payment service was limited to in-store retail payments, but the new launch will also users of the service to pay for goods online.
The UAE is the first country in the Middle East where Samsung Pay has been enabled, following successful launches in the United States, Russia and Singapore.
Samsung said the service is compatible with all major operating systems and browsers (both desktop and mobile), as well as through mobile apps.
“We are delighted to announce this new feature to the Samsung Pay service, which will enable users to use their mobile wallet for even more transactions moving forward,” said Mohammad Gharaibeh, head of enterprise, Mobile Business at Samsung Gulf Electronics.
Initially, the new service will be facilitated in the UAE through Samsung’s regional payment gateway partners like CCAvenue and Mashreq Bank. More
