Dubai Metro grows in popularity
The popularity of Dubai Metro’s Green Line has jumped over the last year as more than 37 million people used the route. The upward swing has continued this year with as many as 3,827,895 passengers using the trains on the Green Line in January.
RTA kicks off construction of 13 new pedestrian bridges
Engineer Maitha bin Udai, Executive Director of the Traffic & Roads Agency, Roads & Transport Authority (RTA), announced the start of construction works in 13 new footbridges out 31 bridges intended to be constructed by the Agency over the next 5 years, adding that RTA is making strenuous efforts to serve pedestrians in the surroundings of the metro stations in order to ensure smooth & safe public transit.
Prime property on the new Metro line
Areas such as Deira, Karama and Al Qusais could be ideal as they are serviced by the Metro — both the Green Line and Red Line. In fact, Deira is serviced by three stations, namely Union station — a major intersection for both the Green and the Red Metro Lines — Al Rigga Station on the Red Line, and Salah Al Din station on the Green Line.
