Dubai Metro turns five and lifts half a billion riders
The Dubai Metro will celebrate on 9.9.2014 its fifth anniversary amid very healthy indicators of success in the operational efficiency judged by the high compliance with trips timetables, world-class safety standards, and the number of riders which recorded which about 500 million riders since the service had been launched in September 2009 till the end of last August.
RTA Organizes an Anti-Smoking Initiative for the Metro Users
On the occasion of the World No Tobacco Day, the Administrative Services Department at the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) Corporate Administrative Support Services Sector has recently organized an anti-smoking initiative targeting the users of Dubai Metro in cooperation with the Dubai Health Authority and Prime Medical Center.
MEP works on Green Line up to 85% complete
At Dubai Healthcare City station, construction works have reached an advanced stage, with the internal finishing works at 55% and electro-mechanical works at 65%. At Al Ras and Al Ghubaiba stations, construction and civil works have been fully completed, as are the metal structures and platform doors. Completion of the finishing works in the two stations ranges from 55% to 70%, whereas the completion of electro-mechanical works ranges from 65 to 75%.
Roads and Transport Authority puts final touches on Green Line stations...
H.E. Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board & Executive Director of the Roads & Transport Authority (RTA), announced that RTA had completed the construction works in most stations on the Green Line of the Dubai Metro, following the full completion of the 23-km long track extending along the Green Line.
