RTA opens Phase 1 of Umm Suqeim Rd Widening Project
The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) inaugurated today on 28 December 2013 Phase I of Umm Suqeim Road Widening & Improvement Project in the direction from Al Khail Road to Sheikh Zayed Road, and plans to open on 07 January 2014 Phase II of the project in the opposite direction from the Sheikh Zayed Road to Al Khail Road, with all remaining works of the project to be completed by the end of February 2014.
RTA to abolish Daily Salik Cap as of July 15th

The Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) has opened the interchange linking Hessa Road, Al Khail Road and Al Barsha with Sh Mohammed bin Zayed Rd. This key interchange serves the traffic movement from and to Al Barsha via Sh Mohammed bin Zayed Rd, providing free vehicular passage in all directions, including the area under development surrounding the interchange.
Two new Salik gates for Dubai
The Roads and Transport Authority said Al Mamzar Toll Gate, situated before and after Al Mamzar Bridge, and the Airport Tunnel Toll Gate - situated at the northern entry and exist of the tunnel – will go live on April 15. The announcement comes just weeks after the RTA said it was to charge taxis for passing through Salik gates.
RTA opens key sectors of Parallel Roads Project
The Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) announced the opening of several road & bridges works in JAFZA (South) forming parts of the mega Parallel Roads of Sheikh Zayed Improvement Project. Last May, the RTA opened the service road leading to the Expo Road, and last December it opened the lane linking Al Maktoum Airport with JAFZA South.
