Dubai to expand rail network
Pioneering the mass transit system in the region with the world’s largest driverless rail system, Dubai aims to extend the rail network further from the current 75km to over 250km by the next decade. The extensive network will include tramways as well as more Metro lines, one of which would connect the Dubai International Airport with Al Maktoum International Airport in Jebel Ali.
Dubai to sell future Salik receipts to finance projects
Roads, bridges and other transport projects are among the schemes the RTA is keen to press ahead with this year. The emirate has already boosted its transport system with the near completion of the Dubai Metro and the continuing construction of Al Maktoum International Airport near Jebel Ali.
UAE will see subdued growth in medium term

UAE's infrastructure growth seen at 3.3% in 2010
The UAE's infrastructure construction industry is predicted to grow by 3.3 percent in 2010, fuelled by Abu Dhabi which is set to spend $15bn over the next three years on projects. Business Monitor International said it had cut its growth assessment for the country's infrastructure sector amid concerns over Dubai's debt crisis.
