The Dh1.925 billion Al Khail Road Widening and Improvement Project was approved in 2008 to help ease traffic congestion on Dubai's major roads. New fog monitors to warn Dubai motorists
Fourteen new fog monitoring stations in Dubai will caution motorists and prevent fog-related accidents, the Dubai Municipality said today. The first-of-its-kind automated monitors in the country - including five on various coasts - will improve visibility information on land and sea in the emirate.
RTA announces operation plan of public transport during New Year's celebrations...
The plan includes expanding the operational hours of the Dubai Metro into a non-stop service past the midnight of Sunday 1stJanuary (24 hours) and slashing the service frequency (headway) to 3 minutes in the stations from Al Rashidiya up to Ibn Battuta during the peak hours from after 12.00 am (past the midnight) and up to 05:30 am, whereas the service frequency during the off-peak time will range from 4 to 10 minutes.
Dubai aims to reduce spending next year
A budget approved yesterday by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, called for Dh32.26 billion (US$8.78bn) of government spending next year against anticipated revenues of Dh30.4bn, resulting in a projected Dh1.8bn deficit.
