The Dubai Metro is a driverless, fully automated metro network in the United Arab Emirates city of Dubai. The Red Line is almost fully operational, the Green Line is under construction with trials commenced in October 2010, and 3 further lines are planned, with some doubt expressed on their feasibility following the financial downturn experienced by Dubai after September 2008.

Liberty to promote electric buses in UAE
Liberty Automobiles has been appointed the exclusive dealer in the UAE for the world's first electric buses. The company, a leading General Motors dealer in the region, will represent the US-based DesignLine Corporation as it markets the new-concept green vehicles across the UAE. Two of the 100 per cent electric buses, known as the Eco-Smart I, are already in daily operation on Abu Dhabi's Sir Bani Yas Island.
RTA launches the Dubai Travel Pass (Terhaal), in partnership with DNATA
Roads & Transport Authority - Nashwan Atta'ee: The Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) will soon be launching the Dubai Travel Pass (Terhaal) initiative; a pack that gives visitors to Dubai the ability to use public transportation with relative ease upon arrival in the Emirate. The intention is to provide means for visitors to travel from their homes and back to their homes seamlessly.
Don't misuse bus seats
The reader said: "Every time I commute, I see at least two or three passengers in the bus who think it is acceptable to put their feet up on vacant seats. This is a disgusting habit and they should behave appropriately! Although I have seen cameras in some public buses, I have never seen anyone being fined for this bad habit. Perhaps bus drivers could keep an eye on passengers and stop them from this misuse."
