Dubai Metro – The Green Line (2011) (HD)
The Green Line of the Dubai Metro opened on 9th September 2011. The line has 18 stations (16 open from Dubai Healthcare City to Etisalat in late 2011) spanning 22.5 km (7.9 km underground).
Sheikh Mohammed sets an example by taking the Dubai Metro
A picture of the Sheikh, supplied to The National by Dubai Media Office, was widely circulated on Facebook and Twitter today, prompting the Sheikh to take to his Twitter account. "I used Dubai Metro yesterday while conducting an official visit," he wrote. "I encourage all to utilize Dubai advanced transportation." His post was retweeted by more than 100 people in the first 20 minutes.
Prime property on the new Metro line
Areas such as Deira, Karama and Al Qusais could be ideal as they are serviced by the Metro — both the Green Line and Red Line. In fact, Deira is serviced by three stations, namely Union station — a major intersection for both the Green and the Red Metro Lines — Al Rigga Station on the Red Line, and Salah Al Din station on the Green Line.
MEP works on Green Line up to 85% complete
At Dubai Healthcare City station, construction works have reached an advanced stage, with the internal finishing works at 55% and electro-mechanical works at 65%. At Al Ras and Al Ghubaiba stations, construction and civil works have been fully completed, as are the metal structures and platform doors. Completion of the finishing works in the two stations ranges from 55% to 70%, whereas the completion of electro-mechanical works ranges from 65 to 75%.
