RTA's Rail Agency has recently launched the Metro Mini Entertainer at the Dubai Metro stations. This Entertainer is a discount voucher booklet and contains savings from over 30 different outlets representing restaurants and leisure centers located close to the Metro stations.
Smartphones will double as Nol Cards in 2013
Beginning 2013, commuters using public transport in Dubai will be able to use compatible smartphones to pay their fare, a senior official at the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced. Instead of using Nol Cards, commuters who have smartphones with Near Field Communication (NFC) Technology will be able to swipe their mobiles over sensors mounted on access gates at Dubai Metro stations besides public buses and Water Bus services.
RTA announces public transport timings for Eid
With the advent of Eid Al Adha, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced revised timings of services during Eid holiday. Metro: From Eid’s first day up to Thursday (Nov.10), Metro stations will receive commuters from 5.50am up to 1am, and on Friday from 1pm up to 1am.
