Big Bus Tours, which operates hop-on, hop-off sightseeing buses in Dubai, is projecting an increase of about 30 per cent in its passenger numbers, compared to the same period last year, during the Dubai Shopping Festival period.

In 2010, many people who wanted to visit the popular annual DSF were left grumbling for lack of public transport, and this year too, it’s been a repeat of the same. “Travelling by public transport to the Global Village is more convenient for us who visit with our families,” said P.T of Al Khan area in Sharjah. He added that it is not possible to get parking space close to the DSF event. “The parking yard is almost two kilometres away.”

The Dubai Events and Promotions Establishment has unveiled the calendar of events for the sixteenth edition of Dubai Shopping Festival. Dubai Shopping Festival 2011 will open with a spectacular show at the Burj Khalifa Boulevard and the Dubai Creek Park with fireworks to herald the beginning of 32 days of festivities.
