He stressed that DTC would stand ready to receive customer requests for taxi services and despatch taxicabs to a variety of residential districts, shopping malls across the emirate and Dubai Metro stations, besides executing booking and despatch requests, and ensure communication through 04-2080808.

The Dubai Taxi Corporation (DTC), Roads & Transport Authority has opened a technical support office at its Head Office to receive daily requests and inquiries from employees, suppliers and visitors with a view to easing the procedures, saving time & effort and streamlining the daily jobs of various sections.

The CEO of the DTC Abdul Aziz Malik explained the proposed system saying: “The proposed system aims at achieving a 6% improvement in customer satisfaction and mystery shopper results, a 5% improvement in drivers satisfaction rating, a 2% improvement in the rate of traffic accidents per 100,000 in which DTC drivers are involved, an 11% reduction in traffic offences per 100,000 km, a reduction of complaints rate per 100,000 km, and a 2% increase in the average daily revenue.

The DTC’s pilot project in association with Swiss sanitisation firm Saniservice, will disinfect vehicles without the possibility of causing any side-effects on passengers and drivers.

A delegation from the Women's Committee of the Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) paid a field visit to the Rashid Pediatric Therapy Center in Dubai, as part of RTA strategy and corporate social responsibility to communicate with all the institutions and support the disabled cause.

This shows that despite the Dubai Metro gnawing away at their consumer base, public buses spreading their reach wider across various areas of the emirate and the change in demographics as well as the economic pattern affecting businesses, taxis remain a popular mode of transport.

The Contract was signed on behalf of the DTC by its CEO Abdul Aziz Malik, and on behalf of Noor Takaful General by its CEO Parvaiz Siddiq, in the presence of several directors and senior executives from both parties.

Prior to the launch of Dubai Metro last year, many taxi drivers in Dubai were anxious about the possible loss of income it would bring about.

The Dubai Taxi Corporation (DTC) has teamed up with Public Transport Agency at Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) to run an educative program for DTC taxi drivers focusing on traffic offences, as well as procedures & policies adopted by both bodies towards improving the code of conduct and quality of service delivered to the public.
